It's going to be Spook-tacular!
The Gym will be closed for Halloween on Friday, October 31. However...
Santa Barbara Gymnastics Club is hosting a Parents' Night Out on Saturday, November 1. Even though Halloween will have been the previous day, we invite all kids to wear costumes over their gym workout clothes (or bring gym attire to change into), since we will have a costume parade and contest. (See? They get one more wear out of those costumes before they outgrow them!)
There will be plenty of gymnastics and trampoline activities, obstacle courses, relays and, in general, just tons of fun for the kids! AND you get your own grown-up time, while we watch and entertain the little ones. Here are the details:
Date: Saturday, November 1, 2014
Time: 5:30 - 9:30 P.M.
Location: SBGC Gym
Cost: $35 for members and $30 for siblings; $40 for non-members and $35 for siblings
RSVP Date: Saturday, October 25 for sign-up and payment
Gym membership is not required to participate in this event, although a written waiver will be required of all non-gym members. Gym members receive a discount on the cost of attending the event, however.
Pizza and juice boxes will be provided at approximately 7:00 P.M., so you may want to give your child a mid-afternoon snack to tide them over until then.
Space is limited. Your RSVP and payment by Saturday, October 25, reserves your spot, so be sure to stop at the gym office and sign up today!
Happy Halloween, and safe trick-or-treating!
Our Olympic Day celebration was an enormous success, with over 50 kids (and parents) attending this free event!
We began the festivities with the introduction of the Mayor of Santa Barbara, who read and then presented a beautiful Proclamation to Susan Montgomery, gym owner. Come check it out the next time you are in the gym!
There were many free activities, both educational and physical, for the kids. The SBGTC teams, both artistic and T&T, concluded the day with a performance demonstrating these Olympic sports.
Thanks to everyone who participated and helped to make this event the outstanding success that it was!
Our girls' compulsory artistic team had its first meet on September 13-14. The girls worked hard to prepare, and we are so proud of their great performances! Their next competition is on October 5. This will be followed by two more meets in October - it will be a busy month as we gear up for the Championship meets. Good luck in your fall season, girls!
Our T&T team has been training hard, too. They are working on many new and exciting skills! They will be attending a clinic in October to continue their training, and are looking forward to their first competition in January.
We are starting a cheer program, which will also be training for competitions. Check out our new Cheer classes in the "Cheer" drop-down under "Classes".
Please note: we take cash or checks only!
